Online Korean classes make it possible to learn from anywhere in India, but the experience can differ greatly from one course to another. A polished advertisement does not always tell you how much you will speak, what you will learn or whether the class suits your level.
Start with your reason for learning
Your goal should guide your choice. A learner preparing for TOPIK needs vocabulary, grammar, reading and test practice. Someone who wants to understand K Dramas may need listening and natural expressions. A student planning to work with Korean companies may need formal communication and speaking confidence.
Check whether the class is truly live
A live class should allow questions, speaking and correction. Ask whether the teacher interacts with students or mainly presents slides. If recordings are included, treat them as revision support rather than a replacement for participation.
Ask about class size
Batch size changes how much attention you receive. A large group can be lively, but individual speaking time may be limited. Small groups and personalised sessions allow the teacher to notice pronunciation, grammar and confidence more closely.
Look for a clear curriculum
A beginner course should not jump randomly between trendy phrases. It should build a foundation through Hangul, pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, listening, reading and guided speaking. Enjoyable cultural examples can support the course, but they should not replace structure.
A useful question to ask: What will I be able to understand or say after one month? A good teacher should be able to explain the expected progress clearly.
Review the teacher’s background
Look for Korean language education, proficiency, teaching experience and evidence that the teacher understands beginner difficulties. A qualified teacher should explain Korean in a way that is accurate without making every lesson feel complicated.
Choose consistency over intensity
Two regular classes each week can create a strong rhythm. You have time to learn, practise and return with questions. A very fast course may cover many chapters while leaving little time to use what you learned.
Understand the complete fee
Ask how many sessions are included, how long each class lasts and whether there is a long commitment. Hallyu Heights offers eight live classes each month for ₹1999, which is about ₹250 per class. The plan focuses on accessible, guided learning for beginners.
